Die extra capaciteit is nodig om aan de groeiende vraag naar AI-chips te voldoen, liet de fabrikant maandag weten in een verklaring. Vorig jaar nog zette Intel een streep door een beoogde nieuwe chipfabriek in het Duitse Maagdenburg, een project dat ruim 30 miljard euro zou kosten.
