US President Donald Trump said he wants Gulf countries to reimburse the United States for securing the Strait of Hormuz amid ongoing Iranian attacks. Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, Trump said the US is protecting "a very rich portion of the world" and should be compensated for its efforts. He specifically named Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain and Kuwait as countries benefiting from US protection.
