Anti-terrorism police have taken charge of an investigation into the killing of veteran British right-wing politician Ann Widdecombe after fresh evidence emerged, the interior minister said Monday.

Home Affairs Minister Shabana Mahmood confirmed on Monday that there were reasons to believe there was a terrorist motive to the alleged crime.

Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP) has confirmed it is now leading the investigation into the death of the 78-year-old former minister in Devon last week.
