The Automobile Association (AA) says fuel prices may be about as low as they will get for a while, with diesel at risk of rising because of a Russian export ban.

The move sparked price spikes in Europe and the US, threatening agriculture, power and transport amid tightening supply.

The Automobile Association (AA) says fuel prices may be about as low as they will get for a while, with diesel at risk of rising because of a Russian export ban.

The AA said the average cost of a litre of petrol has reached 151p having dropped to 150.7p a week ago. Average diesel prices stand at 164.9p per litre.

The Automobile Association says now is the time to fill up the car, as renewed fighting in the Middle East is expected to push up petrol and diesel prices.
