The National Energy Regulator of South Africa (Nersa) has approved generation licences for four solar PV projects, with a combined contracted capacity of 890 MW and an installed capacity of nearly 1.05 GW, in Mpumalanga and the Free State. The projects form part of Bid Window 7.3 of the Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme and are being developed by Red Rocket SA and Engie.
