The IOC provisionally lifted its ban of the Russian Olympic Committee, enabling potential participation in the 2028 Games, officials said Tuesday.

The decision restores the Russian Olympic Committee’s status, but does not guarantee Russia a full return at the 2028 Los Angeles Games.

"Recommended conditions of participation as they relate to Russian athletes and teams, including the protective measures, no longer applicable," the statement said

All eligibility checks on the neutral status of Russian athletes have been scrapped, Russian Sports Minister Mikhail Degtyarev said

Russian athletes may be eligible to compete at the LA 2028 Olympics after the IOC removed its suspension, with some conditions.
