Russian fuel shortages after Ukraine attacks oil refineries

NORSI, Russia's fourth-largest oil refinery and a major gasoline producer, suspended crude oil processing on 2 July after a second drone strike damaged a primary refining unit, impacting over half its capacity. Multiple other Russian oil refineries, including those in Yaroslavl, Ufa, Slavyansk, Moscow, TANECO, Kuibyshev, Syzran, and Tuapse, have been hit by Ukrainian drones since May, leading to halted operations and significant damage to processing units. Ukrainian drone attacks have also targeted Russian port infrastructure and fuel storage facilities, including Baltic Sea ports like Vysotsk and Ust-Luga, and Black Sea ports such as Novorossiysk and Temryuk, causing fires and damage. These sustained drone attacks on Russia's energy infrastructure are exacerbating fuel shortages across the country, leading to rising prices and long queues at filling stations in many regions.
