Severe rains and extensive waterlogging wreaked havoc on Western Railway on Monday, disrupting upwards of 40 train services and trapping over 20 long-distance trains in Maharashtra and south Gujarat. Key routes, notably the Mumbai-Ahmedabad corridor, were inundated, leading to numerous train cancellations and diversions. In response to the situation, authorities provided crucial supplies and set up support desks for affected passengers.

The IMD said that Mumbai is likely to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places, with isolated areas expected to witness extremely heavy rain. | India News
