The Stars and Stripes have received the most unexpected boost for its World Cup round of 16 tie.

U.S. soccer star Folarin Balogun has had his World Cup ban suspended by FIFA, making him free to play in the United States' round of 16 game against Belgium on Monday.

On Sunday, FIFA unexpectedly suspended the mandatory one-match ban stemming from Balogun's recent red card, providing a massive boost to the USMNT.

“The implementation of the match suspension is suspended for a probationary period of one year,” FIFA announced Sunday.
