A group of lawmakers from Democratic Bulgaria has submitted amendments to Bulgaria's Electronic Identification Act that would introduce a European digital identity wallet, bringing national legislation into line with the European Union's digital identity framework. The proposal, introduced by Bozhidar Bozanov, Nadezhda Yordanova, and other MPs, is based on the EU regulation adopted by the European Parliament and the Council on April 11, 2024, establishing a common European framework for digital identity.
