THESSALONIKI, Greece: Greek police said Friday they had arrested two Turkish nationals seeking to cross their frontier with 50 pistols. The men were driving two trucks at the Evros border crossing in the Thrace region on Wednesday night with the front vehicle acting as a “scout” and the guns found in the following truck, said a police statement. Forty-nine magazine reloads for the guns were also found, the statement added. None of the pistols had any manufacturer’s marking or serial numbers to be able to identify them.

Police have arrested two Turkish nationals accused of smuggling firearms from Turkey into Greece to supply criminal groups, authorities said.
