Cooler weather and thunderstorms return to Finland

Finland is heading into a cooler and wetter spell after a warmer-than-average June that brought more heatwave days than usual. Forecasters expect showers and thunderstorms across much of the country through the first half of July, although sunny intervals will still develop between weather systems. The hot weather that closed June is giving way to a more unsettled pattern as low-pressure systems move across Northern Europe.
