From The Hindu Archives, June 24, 1976: An express train will start running between Amritsar and Lahore when rail traffic between India and Pakistan is resumed. An agreement to this effect was reached between the railway experts of the two countries… when talks began here on the restoration of the rail links that had snapped in 1965.
