Newcastle church leader’s body exhumed from a shallow grave following court intervention

The body of Christian Catholic Apostolic Holy Spirit Church in Zion president Thamsanqa Elijah Nkonyane has been exhumed at the church's headquarters in Osizweni, Newcastle, following a Pietermaritzburg High Court order. The development comes after weeks of controversy surrounding his funeral and allegations that the coffin presented during burial proceedings did not contain his remains.
