Swathes of the UK are to see record-breaking temperatures of up to 38C

An amber heat health alert has been issued for four areas as the Met Office warns a heatwave is on the way, with temperatures of 34C or more forecast this weekend

Swathes of southern and eastern England and Wales were placed under the rare 47-hour Met Office amber warning which will run from 1am on Monday until the end of Tuesday.
