The Pietermaritzburg High Court has ordered the exhumation and reburial of Christian Catholic Apostolic Holy Spirit in Zion Church leader Thamsanqa Nkonyane following a highly publicised burial dispute. The case drew national attention after allegations surfaced that his funeral casket contained bricks and that he had been secretly buried before his scheduled funeral. The court ruled that Nkonyane's estranged wife has the legal right to oversee his reburial and ordered the woman alleged to have arranged the secret burial to assist police in locating the grave.
