‘There were many times I thought it would end’: JD Vance on marriage to Usha

JD Vance has reflected on his “chaotic” relationship with Usha Vance as he revealed whether the pair has ever been to couple’s therapy. Appearing on Steven Bartlett’s Diary of a CEO podcast on Thursday (18 June), the US vice president explained that whilst Usha is his “best friend”, there have been many times during their 12-year marriage where he thought their relationship would end. Mr Vance blamed his own “avoidant attachment style” for their problems in the early stages of their relationship. Asked by Mr Bartlett whether their pair have attended couples’ counselling, the US vice president said they had not. He explained he has been before but finds it “way too uncomfortable to talk to a stranger”.
