‘There was a lot of blood in the water’: paddleboarder rescues woman after ‘shocking’ Coogee shark attack

Paddleboarder Charlie Verco rescued a woman from a 3.5-metre shark attack at Sydney's Coogee Beach; the victim suffered arm and leg injuries. The fourth serious attack since September 2025 prompted closure of Sydney beaches from Bondi to Maroubra for 24 hours.
