The High Court has upheld Rigathi Gachagua’s impeachment, blocking his immediate return to public office and prompting him to announce plans to appeal the decision.

"The real absurdity is declaring that someone's rights were infringed, especially the right to fair hearing, then holding that the process stands either way," noted Muriuki.

He particularly faulted the handling of his case before the Senate.
