Illinois still has one narrow path to keep the Bears from moving to Indiana, but only if state leaders act fast with a real stadium plan this summer, finally.

The Chicago Bears’ Board of Directors voted Thursday to advance a new stadium development in Hammond, Indiana.

The vote comes less than a week after the spring session of the Illinois Legislature concluded with no solutions for an Illinois stadium.

A statement from Chicago Bears Chairman George H. McCaskey and President and CEO Kevin Warren confirmed they were closer to leaving.
