The UK government plans to purchase AI chips from British firms in a move worth up to £100 million, aiming to stop startups from relocating to the US.

Tech Secretary Liz Kendall will announce "strategic purchases" of semiconductor kit from UK companies at London Tech Week, aiming to build a £37B chip industry.

"We will use the power of public procurement to support British ingenuity," Starmer told the London Tech Week conference in a speech on Monday.
