Donald Trump confirmed he will attend Game 3 of the NBA Finals at Madison Square Garden on Monday, but appeared unmoved by the soaring ticket prices keeping many basketball fans from doing the same. Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One on Friday (5 June) as he travelled to Wisconsin for an event with farmers, the president was asked about tickets that have climbed as high as $8,000 each for the first Finals game in New York between the Knicks and the Spurs. “They can watch it on television,” Trump replied. “It’s sorta semi-free to watch it on television,” he added. “That’s the way life goes.”

The last sitting president to attend an NBA game was President Barack Obama in 2015.
