President Donald Trump is scheduled to attend Game 3 of the NBA Finals at Madison Square Garden on Monday, but didn’t have much to say about regular fans needing thousands of dollars to enter the building, too.StubHub’s cheapest ticket for a single seat to the game between the New York Knicks and San Antonio Spurs was $9,771 as of Friday afternoon. Asked about the high prices by a reporter on Friday, Trump suggested folks who cannot afford to attend should watch at home.“They can watch it on television. It’s sort of semi-free to watch it on television, but that’s the way life goes,” Trump said while speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One. He also praised the Knicks’ undefeated playoff streak thus far, singling out Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns as “fantastic.”
Reporter: The cheapest price for the game you’re going to is $8,000. Everyday Americans can’t afford these sporting events.
