Maja Chwalinska of Poland became just the second qualifier to reach a Grand Slam singles final in the Open Era when she beat Diana Shnaider of Russia 7-6 (4), 6-4.

Polish qualifier Maja Chwalinska extended her remarkable run at the French Open by cruising into the quarter-finals with a straight-sets win over Diane Parry on Monday.

The 24-year-old from Poland flummoxed Russian No. 22 seed Kalinskaya with her changes in speed, spin, height and depth.
