A British army soldier was killed during a training exercise in Iraq on Sunday has been identified as Lance Corporal James Freeman, the MoD has announced.

The unnamed individual was conducting exercises in northern Iraq where UK troops have thwarted Iranian drone attacks.

The Ministry of Defence said the service person was killed yesterday in the north of the country.
