Former Scottish first minister Nicola Sturgeon says she was “deceived, misled and betrayed” by her estranged husband after he admitted embezzling more than £400,000 (A$830,000) from one of Britain’s most powerful political parties.

Sturgeon and Peter Murrell share the suburban home in Uddingston, Glasgow, which could be sold off to pay back lost funds, a legal expert confirmed.

The evidence was there in front of her nose: a £124,550 motorhome, a £3,232 coffee machine , a £3,500 silver wine coaster.
