Ryan Willis McFarland turned the gun on himself after he was apprehended by police officers, Muscatine Police Chief Anthony Kies said

Ryan Willis McFarland was identified as the perpetrator after a string of shootings across Muscatine, Iowa, that left seven, including the shooter, dead.

The "series of homicides" occurred Monday at two residences and a business in Muscatine, police said.

Muscatine police said the alleged gunman killed six family members, then himself, as part of a domestic dispute.
