Euphoria star Zendaya issued a heartfelt thank you message to the show’s crew as her time on the HBO show came to an end in a dramatic season finale. The actor, 29, played teenage drug addict Rue Bennett since the first series of the show in 2019. In the 93-minute-long season finale broadcast on Sunday (31 May), her character met her untimely end after an accidental overdose. A behind-the-scenes video showed Zendaya praising the cast and crew who “watched me grow up”. “I’m so grateful for every single one of you,” she added.

Euphoria season 3 ends with the drama's most crushing loss in a plot that shockingly uses Rue to further Ali's story through a revenge fantasy common place in Westerns.
