The United States of America has pledged to commit the sum of $13.5 million in financial support to strengthen Kenya’s preparedness for the planned quarantine facility at Kenya’s Laikipia Air Base. The U.S. announced the fresh financial commitment through Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, on Friday, May 29, as he held talks with Kenyan President William Ruto over the ongoing Ebola outbreak.

The facility is pending approval from the Kenyan government.
