EU sanctions Israeli settlers, expands sanctions to Hamas' Politburo members

BRUSSELS, May 28 (Reuters) - The EU Council on Thursday imposed sanctions on four entities and three individuals for abuses against Palestinians in West Bank, it said in a statement. The list includes what the EU Council called extremist Israeli settlers and organisations that support them.In a separate statement, the Council said it would also broaden the scope of the EU's sanctions on Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad to also cover members of Hamas' Political Bureau (Politburo) who promote, defend, or justify acts of violence.
