Amdocs is cutting 2,700–3,000 jobs (≈10% of its 29,000 workforce), the third consecutive year of large-scale layoffs, as new CEO Shimie Hortig restructures the company around a dedicated AI division. With Q2 revenue of $1.17B (+3.9% YoY) but a downward-revised full-year growth outlook, telecom and enterprise software vendors face the same AI-for-efficiency bet: fewer headcount, higher automation — and investors will expect measurable returns within 12 months.
