Dr. Paul Collins, keeper of the Department of the Middle East, was due to speak on ancient Israel and objects illustrating the political and cultural forces that shaped the region more than 2,000 years ago. The event, part of the UK’s first Jewish Culture Month running until June 16, was scheduled at the BP Lecture Theater but was postponed less than 24 hours before it was due to begin.
