The Department of Justice has charged Google information-security engineer Michele Spagnuolo with using internal search-trend data to net $1.2m on Polymarket’s Year-in-Search market.

A Google staffer fraudulently made more than $1 million by using inside information to place Polymarket bets on what users were searching for on Google, authorities say.
