The Supreme Court dismissed a case over how to weigh multiple IQ scores when determining if an inmate may be executed by the state.

The 55-year-old man at the center of the case, who has been on death row for more than 2 decades, has IQ scores ranging from 72 to 78.

The Supreme Court on Thursday let stand an appeals court decision that barred Alabama from executing a man that lower courts found is likely intellectually disabled.
