Meta began notifying thousands of employees of layoffs on Wednesday, starting with Singapore staff at 4 am local time. The cuts implement an April commitment to reduce headcount by ~8,000 roles.

In the document, the Facebook owner's head of human resources also told employees that "many leaders will announce org changes" in coordination with the layoffs.

Meta is slated to cut 10% of its staff this week. On Monday, its HR chief Janelle Gale gave staff a better idea of what to expect.
