David Attenborough’s iconic turtle encounter resurfaces on his 100th birthday

Sir David Attenborough lay side-by-side with a leatherback sea turtle in an iconic moment from his illustrious career. Memorable footage from the beloved broadcaster and biologist's life is being celebrated to mark the esteemed broadcaster’s 100th birthday. This clip, from Blue Planet II, shows Sir David sprawled out on the sand of Trinidad next to the huge marine creature, which was preparing to lay eggs. Sir David met conservationist Len Peters, who works to end turtle hunting and encourage tourism, and had seen the species' numbers rise from 30-40 to more than 500.
