Teen’s chilling remark after being charged in ‘ISIS-inspired’ attack at mayor’s home

Mamdani nor first lady Rama Duwaji were inside Gracie Mansion at the time of the attack.Federal prosecutors allege the teenagers were inspired by the Islamic State, with Balat reportedly stating he wanted an attack "even bigger" than the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing.One of the devices contained triacetone triperoxide, a highly volatile homemade explosive, which extinguished itself as it rolled toward police officers, while the second device failed to ignite.Kayumi allegedly shouted that he was inspired by ISIS while being arrested and both teens referred to ISIS in recorded post-arrest statements, according to court documents.
