LONDON: German media group Axel Springer said Friday it would buy Britain’s conservative Daily Telegraph newspaper, vowing to “preserve the integrity of a heritage media brand” while giving it a platform for growth and expansion. The German group, which owns the mass-market tabloid Bild, the Welt broadsheet as well as the Politico news outlet, said it would pay 575 million pounds ($766 million) for the title.
