The Green Party’s win in the Gorton and Denton by-election sends a “message of hope” to the country, Zack Polanski said after Hannah Spencer’s victory in the formerly safe seat for Labour. Labour’s defeat, trailing in third behind the Greens and Nigel Farage’s Reform UK in the previously rock-solid Greater Manchester constituency, has piled pressure on Sir Keir Starmer’s party. Mr Polanski said the result showed there are now no “no-go areas” for the party in England and Wales, as he vowed that his party will “do it all again” at the local elections in May.
