Venezuela announces large-scale prisoner release

A large number of detainees were to be released from Venezuelan prisons, the country's parliamentary speaker said Thursday in an apparent concession to Donald Trump in the wake of the US military's exfiltration of leader Nicolas Maduro. The gesture came as the US Senate launched measures to rein in military action against Venezuela.
