A strong geomagnetic storm from recent solar activity pushed the Northern Lights unusually far south overnight on Nov. 11-12, 2025.

The Northern Lights may be visible in the U.S. overnight on Sunday, Nov. 9, into Monday, Nov. 10, with a G2 geomagnetic storm being forecast by experts at NOAA.

NOAA's Space Weather Prediction Center's view line shows these 21 states could see the glowing phenomenon in the sky.
