Amazon said Tuesday it is shuttering all Britain-based "Fresh" markets in an effort to realign its global grocery retail strategies with its Whole Foods chain.

The stores, which have no checkouts, will be closed or converted into Whole Foods outlets

The company's grocery business has undergone significant changes over the past few years, including trimming its brick-and-mortar store footprint.
