For the past two weeks in Gaza, Israel has implemented "humanitarian pauses" for 10 hours every day to increase the flow of aid due to international pressure. But the war hasn't slowed – there are still daily incidents in which Palestinians are killed, wounded and die of starvation; Hamas still holds 50 Israeli hostages; and the Israeli military is preparing to expand the war, a potentially disastrous and deeply unpopular move that could endanger the lives of the 20 living hostages, 22 months after the October 7 attack.
