Watch as a British national who claims he survived the Air India plane crash walks away from the disaster which claimed the lives of over 200 people. Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, 40, said he managed to escape almost certain death after jumping off the plane before it crashed into a residential area in the city of Ahmedabad on Thursday (12 June). Footage shows the 40-year-old surrounded by a flock of people as he walks away from what is thought to be the site of the crash. He appears to be relatively unscathed. Reports have claimed that Ramesh is the sole surviving passenger of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, which crashed with 240 people onboard.

The London-bound Air India plane carrying 242 people crashed shortly after take-off in western India.

Authorities had said earlier they believed there were no survivors on the Gatwick-bound flight that crashed in Gujarat carrying 242 passengers, including 53 Britons.
