The FTSE 100 consumer healthcare company behind Sensodyne toothpaste and Panadol painkillers is planning to cut hundreds of jobs a year after being spun off from GSK.
Haleon employs 24,000 staff in 170 countries, including about 1,700 in the UK. Staff were told of the redundancy plans this week, which will affect the UK as well as Haleon’s international operations.
A consultation started on Wednesday and will close next month. Some employees will be offered other roles with the company while others are set to leave in September.
It is part of a cost-cutting programme announced at Haleon’s full-year results in March, with the aim of saving £300 million over the next three years.
