Activists who are targeting SUVs vandalised a Range Rover in Dundee and left a warning letter that included pictures of the two girls who were killed by a similar vehicle at a Wimbledon primary school.

A 4x4 crashed through a fence into the grounds of The Study Prep school in southwest London last week, injuring 16 people.

Two eight-year-old girls, Selena Lau and Nuria Sajjad, died in the incident. The driver, a woman in her 40s, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and has been released on bail.

The crash has sparked a debate about the use of 4x4s in cities, with Norman Baker, a former Lib Dem transport minister, claiming they are “completely inappropriate for urban locations”.
