Keir Starmer risked the wrath of the Labour Left today as he confirmed he is ditching the vow to scrap tuition fees.
Sir Keir admitted the party is 'moving on' from the high-profile pledge he made while campaigning for the leadership.
He stressed that Labour was still looking for a 'fairer' policy than the current arrangements - which mean students racking up debt to pay fees of more than £9,000 a year.
However, the shift is likely to infuriate left-wingers who have accused Sir Keir of dropping a slew of promises that helped him win the contest to succeed Jeremy Corbyn.
