June 8 (UPI) -- Starz has announced a new three-part documentary Who is Ghislaine Maxwell? to premiere four days before the socialite's sentencing for her involvement in the Jeffrey Epstein case.

The documentary, which drops June 24, will delve into how Maxwell, who had wealth and power, ended up on trial for insidious abuse.

The series features exclusive first-time interviews with Maxwell's friends, rivals and victims to provide insight into her personality and personal life. It documents the trajectory from Maxwell's privileged childhood in a stately English home to her elite life in London and a prison cell in New York.

Who is Ghislaine Maxwell? also follows the events of the 2021 trial in New York through legal proceedings, journalists and contributors close to the proceedings.

Maxwell, 60, was tried and convicted in December of sex trafficking underage girls for Epstein. She has been detained at the Metropolitan Correctional Center, a federal jail in Brooklyn, since her arrest. She is scheduled to be sentenced June 28 and could face up to 65 years in prison.
