Paris (EFE).- Thousands of people took part in a massive karaoke event on Friday organized by Paris City Hall to welcome Canadian singer Céline Dion on the eve of her return to the stage, after six years away due to the COVID-19 pandemic and health issues.

«We came with friends to have a good time with Céline; we couldn’t get tickets for her concerts, so that’s why we’re here today,» Hugo and Joanie told EFE while participating in the huge karaoke gathering at Place de la Bataille-de-Stalingrad in northeastern Paris.

According to Paris City Hall, up to 10,000 people gathered across the two sessions, one at 4:00 pm. and another at 7:00 pm.

The Quebec-born singer arrived in Paris on August 28 and has since been staying at the Royal Monceau hotel, where dozens of fans wait for her daily, chanting her name and cheering whenever she steps out to greet them.
