Ethena’s synthetic dollar tokens, USDe and sUSDe, are now live on TRON, giving one of crypto’s most heavily trafficked networks a new pair of dollar-denominated assets. The integration, announced jointly by TRON DAO and Ethena Labs, uses Stargate Finance as the bridging layer, letting users move both tokens onto TRON for holding, transferring, and eventually deploying across the chain’s DeFi ecosystem.
TRON has become the workhorse blockchain for stablecoin settlement, boasting over 403 million accounts and processing enormous volumes of dollar-pegged transactions daily.
What USDe and sUSDe actually do
USDe is a synthetic dollar, meaning it maintains its peg through a delta-neutral strategy rather than sitting on a pile of bank deposits or Treasury bills. The protocol takes collateral and hedges it with futures positions, effectively canceling out price exposure to keep the token pegged near $1.
sUSDe is the staked version of USDe, a yield-bearing token that lets holders earn rewards generated by Ethena’s hedging strategy.
